Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, abbreviated
as BUET, is one of the most prestigious institutions for higher
studies in the country. About five thousand students are pursuing
undergraduate and postgradute studies in engineering, architecture,
planning and science in this institution. The total number of
teachers is over four hundred. The BUET campus is in the heart

Bangladesh National University Gazipur was established in 1992

menaced by student unrest and bard-pressed to see to their obligations

Rajshahi University is the second largest university in the country

University of Technology (IUT)
Islamic University of Technology (IUT) at Dhaka, Bangladesh is
a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference
(OIC) representing fifty-six Islamic countries. It was initially
established as the Islamic Centre for Technical and Vocational
Training and Research (ICTVTR) on the recommendation of the Ninth
Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM) held in Dakar,
Senegal in 1978. The foundation stone of ICTVTR was laid on 27
March 1981 on the 30-acre land donated by the Government of the
People’s Republic of Bangladesh. It was renamed to "Islamic
Institute of Technology" in the twenty-second ICFM held in
Casablanka, Kingdom of Morocco in 1994. The current name, Islamic
University of Technology, was approved by the twenty-eight ICMF
held in Republic of Mali on 25-27 June 2001. IUT campus is located
in a picturesque setup at Gazipur, 30 km north of Dhaka, the capital
city of Bangladesh.

Institute of Statistical Research and Training, popularly known
as ISRT, was established in 1964 by a statute of the University
of Dhaka. The Institute is an integral part of the University
of Dhaka. The Institute was established to promote and provide
facilities for advanced studies and research in Statistics, including
the establishment of research units for developing statistical
concepts and methodology appropriate to diverse applied fields,
to provide training to various statistical workers on technical
and professional aspects of applied statistics, to cooperate with
other departments and agencies in planning and development of
survey and research schemes, and to undertake research projects
sponsored by public, private, national or international organizations.
